Royal Nepal Airlines uses a picture of Machu Picchu  to promote tourism in Nepal. What the ?? The Everest ain’t attractive enough ?

Royal Nepal Airlines has apologized to Peru after mistakenly using a photo of the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu to promote tourism in Nepal.

….

Peruvian mountaineer Ernesto Malaga, who was visiting India last month, noticed the blunder on a poster hanging on a wall in the airline’s office in New Delhi. Peruvian authorities requested explanations from the airline via the embassy.

Bah – its all mountains anyway.

  1. Lol!

Good catch. I wonder how can anyone make that mistake? Perhaps, some wise guy thought Mt. Picchu looked better than Everest and it’s all mountains anyway.

    Blasphemous! How dare you!

On a side note, a great reply by a famous mountaineer (I forget who now) when asked why he does he want to climb the Everest: “because it is there.” Now if I have to explain, you won’t understand.

  3. @Confused: from a distance all mountains look the same 😉

@Patrix: Of course, I was being sarcastic. I think I got it (the mountaineer remark).

Thanks for the template pointer – I will probably change it soon.
