End of the week silliness
Tags and memes are like the 10W-40 of the blogosphere – you need them about every three months or so to keep the engines running smoothly and all. The latest bug of this nature to hit the desi blog-world, which possibly started here and then spread through this highly popular and eminent blogger, is quite literally silly. So the idea is that you are supposed to post a silly picture of yourself taken within the last five years (I fully expect ‘The Colonel‘ to appear at any moment now and declare all this to be ‘very silly’).
Still, seems like it has brought out many bloggers in their self-depreciatory best (Gaurav Mishra has nice gallery going).
Lurking in the hinterlands has its advantages – I usually slip under the radar whenever such memes are floating around. Unfortunately, this time I have been caught by another eminent blogger. But Unfortunately, a quick scan through the hard-drive of my work computer yields no pictures meeting the criteria. So here is the closest I could find:
I know – its my usual lame avatar – but I dunno if there is anything that is actually sillier than this. Also, as Confused kindly pointed out -I should note that a Bong (and a Pondit at that), cannot by definition, be silly (or is it that we define silliness; silly-me, always forgetting which way it is).
Will update later if something better is found.
Oh – I am supposed to tag five others – unfortunately, most of the regular blogs I read have already been tagged. Still I tag gawker (hopefully we can now see him at his gooselicious best), confused (I know its a repeat – but that lazy bum needs a second push), Sunil, Arundhati, and ……… (fill in your name here – means anybody else reading this and brave enough to take it upon themselves).
You have a very eco-friendly aura about you.

Not fair! You can still post a picture without revealing too much…think creatively 🙂 I know you are a bong, but you can do it if you try hard enough.

[…] Well, everyone knows, I hate doing tags. Btw, I like this everyone bit. It makes me feel more self-Important. But as Pondit ji had pointed out, tags are the motor oil of the Blogsphere. Controversy of course is the gasoline! And when the Gas is low, the consumption of motor oil increases and that more or less explains the increased number of tags floating around. […]
