Early Valentine’s Day advice: how to impress your date.

Take her/him to this ‘up-tempo ultra-lounge’ in Chicago called Reserve. If that by itself is not enough, order the Ruby Red martini.

Served in a traditional martini glass, the cocktail is made with super-premium Grey Goose L’Orange vodka, Hypnotiq liqueur, orange and pomegranate juices and topped off with Dom Pérignon. The coup de grâce: a one-carat ruby affixed to the stirrer. And the bar tab for a Ruby Red? An eye-popping $950.

Emphasis mine. Excerpted from this NYT article(registration required).

As I mention in my intro page, I am quite fond of martinis and I often try to experiment with my cocktail mixes although I really prefer a good old dry gin martini. But I will probably give this one a miss.
