The internet gods must be angry with me. How else do you explain that the hotel we were staying at after arriving in Brisbane developed problems with its wireless network for the duration of our stay. And then even after moving into our own apartment and subscribing to ADSL service (did I mention it was very expensive here ?) - they had problems with the service such that I did not have a net connection over the long weekend (it was a holiday on account of the Queen’s Birthday out here !) ? Anyhow, connection has been restored and be prepared for resumption of rants, pedantic ramblings and other such nonsense.

But the combination of a 35th floor apt, right next to downtown and a river - probably will never happen again this lifetime. Hence we gloat 
@Sakshi: So far, I have noticed mostly German dudes in my workplaces - there are many of them as postdocs/grad students out here ! I woudn’t say the ones I have met at the bars are the coolest of the lot - but will keep you posted. And Aussie women…well….
@Brian: If you are happy with low bandwidth or limited download per month - then prices are similar to US. Isn’t boradband prices pretty high in Canada too ?
