Loved the article! I absolutely love the Outer Banks. It is a beautiful place. Our family has vacationed there for years and years with the outer banks vacation rentals company, Twiddy. The Currituck lighthouse is really neat located by the Whalehead Club. Again, thanks for the great read!

Very nice travelogue. Just came back from OBX. Was visting there with my folks and had a very similar experience. The weather was perfect and the place lived up to all the great things we’ve heard about it. The beaches were pristine and quite private considering the number of people who were there. I guess when you have miles of shoreline with stretches of sandy beaches, you can afford to spread out and give people their privacy. Thanks for all the tips on visiting OBX. We stayed one night in Cape hatteras in Buxton and one night in Nags head. Did all the touristy things like lighthouses and Wright bros. Next visit will concentrate on relaxing on the beach and eating more seafood.

Micheal: Hope you have a good time at OBX. And yes, I have had the misfortune of getting stuck with the OBX/Virginia Beach crowd on I-95!
Btw, glad to see you are back blogging.

Sunil: Let me know when you fly down here next time – will extend the traditional southern hospitality.
We have been thinking of visiting the Pacific Northwest for quite some time – hope to overcome inertia and make it there.

NC is now reserved for a future vacation. The Carolinas are surprisingly beautiful (at least, for me)…..though i’d encountered them quite often in the pulp Louis L’amour books i read often

Many people from Virginia go to the Outer Banks because Virginia Beach (the only beach Virginia has) is so overcrowded.
