As expected, the trip was loads of fun. Nice time at the beach - got to see a beautiful sunrise and even more amazing moon-rise over the ocean. Some pictures to wet your appetite. Full descriptions to follow.

UPDATE: some sort of a description here.

Random picture of the beach.

(I can’t help it, but whenever I see a sun-rise I am reminded of the opening scene from Satyajit Ray’s ‘Mahapurush‘)

  • Lovely Pictures. Many thanks for them.

btw, next time please make a pact with Patrix before you go off on a break. I mean where are we supposed to comment?

Needless to say, some other people suffered. :)

  • hey bongo’m
    howdy dude?
the pics of the north carolina coasts are awesome. i dream every night of facing the sea breeze in the Oregon and Washington state pacific shores. ahh! bliss. really good pics. Love ‘em. And the “mahapurush” comment is well-made.

checked your profile. cracked me up. Not the quite libertarian, ehh. Me too. A fiscal conservative who’s not so conservative with his personal finances. But socially liberal nontheless. We should’ve more of our species in India.
The fiscal deficit is hitting the roofs. And what do we have? more of subisidies. this time on oil. Damn those commies (thanks late Senator Joe McCarthy).

btw, are you a researcher on economics?

  • Ah, the Outer Banks. I have some lovely memories from there. Thanks for reviving them. :)

  • @Confused: I thought you were super busy with actual work and stuff ;-)

@ Agarwaen: Thanks ! I am a researcher - but in biological sciences - not Economics. Recently, however, I have started to take an interest in economics…..

  • This is such a coincidence. Came upon your blog via Sagnik’s and the first thing I see are pictures of OBX. Funny thing is we are driving to OBX this weekend. And also spending one of the nights on Hatteras island. Small world, huh? What would you recommend to people who are visiting for the first time: food, lodging, activities and must see things?

  • @ hutumthumo: hyan ! jayega-ta besh bhalo.

@ m: I have sent you an e-mail with more info. hope it helps. you will really enjoy the OBX.
