I am not Irish - but I do definitely love their beer and that wacky accent ! (I would also love to visit Ireland someday).
In my books, any celebration that involves drinking rocks !! Hence the green theme for the day.
I might go downtown later in the day and drink some green beer or at least fix myself a green martini in the evening.
